Big data tools are not just for big business


Inc. Magazine interviewed marketing technology specialist Robert Cole to see how small businesses can use big data to their advantage. Cole suggests several big data tools that small business owners can use now, including Google Analytics and SizeUp. Cole says SizeUp provides competitive benchmarking “that even the U.S. Small Business Administration taps.”

“Without such tools,” Cole says, “most businesses would have no way to capture, let alone store, organize or provide analytics on data sourced from websites, promotional campaigns, loyalty programs, sales teams, store traffic or revenue transactions. Adding the ability to track this data over time and against competitive benchmarks represents an even greater challenge.”
